Golden, crunchy, and delicious — this Crispy Fish Fry is the perfect comfort meal!
Lightly seasoned and fried to perfection, it’s tender on the inside and crisp on the outside — ideal for lunch, dinner, or a seafood weekend treat! 😋

🧂 Ingredients:

500g white fish fillets (cod, haddock, or basa)

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup cornstarch

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup cold water (adjust for batter consistency)

Oil for frying

Lemon wedges (for serving)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish:
Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Cut into desired pieces and set aside.
  2. Make the Batter:
In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Gradually whisk in cold water until you get a smooth, slightly thick batter.
  3. Heat the Oil:
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Coat and Fry:
Dip each fish piece into the batter, allowing the excess to drip off.
Carefully place in hot oil and fry for 4–6 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain and Serve:
Remove the fried fish and drain on paper towels.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or your favorite dip!

🍋 Tips for Perfect Crispy Fish:

Use ice-cold water for the batter — it helps create a light, crunchy crust.

Don’t overcrowd the pan; fry in batches for even cooking.

For extra crispiness, add a pinch of rice flour or soda water to the batter.
