Creamy, buttery, and packed with garlicky flavor, this Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta is a quick comfort dish that feels restaurant-worthy but comes together fast. Juicy shrimp, silky sauce, and perfectly coated pasta make it a guaranteed favorite for busy nights or cozy dinners.

Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 8 oz (225 g) pasta (linguine, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried parsley
  • ¼ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream, stir, and let simmer gently for 2–3 minutes. Add Parmesan and mix until smooth.
  5. Add cooked pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water. Toss to coat evenly.
  6. Return shrimp to the pan, add paprika/chili flakes and Italian seasoning, and cook 1 more minute.
  7. Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.
