Creamy, buttery, and packed with garlicky flavor, this Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta is a quick comfort dish that feels restaurant-worthy but comes together fast. Juicy shrimp, silky sauce, and perfectly coated pasta make it a guaranteed favorite for busy nights or cozy dinners.
Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
- 8 oz (225 g) pasta (linguine, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried parsley
- ¼ cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, stir, and let simmer gently for 2–3 minutes. Add Parmesan and mix until smooth.
- Add cooked pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water. Toss to coat evenly.
- Return shrimp to the pan, add paprika/chili flakes and Italian seasoning, and cook 1 more minute.
- Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.
